War disrupted their quiet village life. Strong shelling began on March 4th, 2023. With Anatolii being less mobile, they hesitated to leave until volunteers helped them evacuate on April 30th. They first moved to Voloshske in Dnipropetrovsk region, then to a modular town in Irpin.

There, they learned about the Miracle Village built by philanthropist Dell Loy Hansen. Fate smiled on them, bringing them to a peaceful new home. Nadiya now volunteers in the cafeteria, while they both enjoy a life free from the sounds of explosions.
