Korol Family
From: Lyman, Donetsk region
Family members: Volodymyr (73) and Tetiana (71)
Finding Stability After Multiple Relocations
Tetiana and Volodymyr Korol lived together in Lyman until they were forced to evacuate in April 2022 as Russian forces advanced through Donetsk region. They had to change their place of residence several times before eventually moving to the “Dubky” modular town in Irpin. Since October, they have been living in Miracle Village.
Their house in Lyman was 85% damaged during the fighting, making it uninhabitable and unsafe to return to.
“We arrived in a state of stress, with a burden of pain,” Tetiana shares. “But with the help of the village management, volunteers, and benefactors, we received support and felt caring treatment. We have comfortable living conditions now.”
Both spouses remain active in their new community despite their age. Tetiana participates in the “Education and Events” volunteer group, while Volodymyr helps people with limited mobility in their village. After experiencing multiple relocations and the near-complete destruction of their home, they have found not only safety but also purpose and community that have helped them heal from their trauma.
