Hryhorii Barannikov: A Story of Resilience
Name: Hryhorii Barannikov
Age: 68
Hometown: Kozachi Laheri Village, Kherson Region

In 2022, Hryhorii’s village was occupied. Without electricity, gas, or water after the Nova Kakhovka dam’s destruction, he survived 18 months in impossible conditions. Volunteers helped him escape the occupied territory, first bringing him to Brovary and then to the Miracle Village in Kolonshchyna.

His destroyed home remained in the occupied zone, but Hryhorii found a new community. Welcomed warmly, he received material and psychological support. Now a volunteer for education, events, and village security, he continues to contribute and rebuild his life.
