Finding Structure After Displacement

Until May 21, 2022, Lidiia Krytska lived in Bakhmut. At the beginning of combat operations in the city, she was forced to leave her home and evacuate to Kharkiv region, and later to Kyiv. Since October 20, 2023, she has been living in Miracle Village in Kolonshchyna.

Her home in Bakhmut was completely destroyed and is now under occupation, leaving no possibility of return in the foreseeable future.

“I am very satisfied with living in Miracle Village,” Lidiia shares. “I thank the administration for their caring attitude toward us, as well as the doctors and psychologists.”

Finding purpose in her new community, Lidiia volunteers with the “Cleanliness and Order” group and is willing to perform other tasks as needed. After experiencing multiple relocations and the complete destruction of her home, she has found not only safety but also structure and purpose that have helped her rebuild her life amid the ongoing conflict.
