Finding Safety After Total Destruction
Mykola Drobysh owned a three-room apartment in Beryslav. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, his apartment was completely destroyed — no windows, no doors, no roof remained. At 82 years old, he found himself homeless after a lifetime of building his life in Kherson region.
“In Miracle Village, I have everything,” Mykola shares simply. “A home, and caring treatment from the administration and residents.”
At his advanced age, after experiencing the complete destruction of his home and displacement from the occupied territories, Mykola has found safety, dignity, and community in his new surroundings. His brief but poignant testimony reflects the relief of finding appropriate housing and care after losing everything at such an advanced age.
