Finding Stability After Multiple Relocations

In August 2022, Nina Poshtarytsia fled Bakhmut as bombing intensified in the city. She evacuated to Vyshhorod in Kyiv region, where she rented an apartment before relocating to relatives in Chernivtsi region. After staying there until February 2023, she moved to Brovary in Kyiv region, where she lived in a modular town for displaced persons.

In July, Nina learned about the “With Love to Ukraine” charitable foundation and registered for housing. On October 20, 2023, she moved to Miracle Village for permanent residence. Her home in Bakhmut was destroyed during the fierce battle for the city, leaving nothing for her to return to.

“I really enjoy living in Miracle Village,” Nina shares. “I am provided with everything necessary here. We have medical care, a psychologist, and attend concerts and excursions. I also work in gardening. We are very grateful to Hansen and the administration for the living conditions in the village.”

Finding purpose in her new community, Nina volunteers by helping people with limited mobility. After experiencing multiple relocations across Ukraine and the trauma of losing her home, she has found stability, purpose, and community in her new surroundings.
