Halyna Bondarenko: Finding Stability

Evacuated from occupied Horlivka in February 2022, Halyna first rented an apartment in Brovary, then moved to a modular town due to financial challenges. Through the Hansen charitable foundation, she found a new home in the Miracle Village on October 20, 2023.

Now a volunteer with the “Help the Armed Forces of Ukraine” group, Halyna found purpose and comfort in her final months. The village offered free housing, meals, and medical support. She enjoyed gardening and discovered a peaceful community that provided both practical support and a sense of belonging. Sadly, Halyna passed away in winter 2024, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and quiet dignity.
