From Caretaker to Village Administrator
Natalia Voronina left her native home in 2022 and came to stay with her daughter in Kyiv region. She lived in a village near Kyiv, looking after other people’s dogs, cats, and houses. “I am endlessly grateful to our military for managing to drive the enemy away from Kyiv,” she shares. Eventually, she completed an application and was accepted to Miracle Village.
Her home in Vesele village was completely destroyed during the fighting, leaving nothing for her to return to.
“My life has changed for the better,” Natalia explains. “I have a job I love, a wonderful director, and respect from residents. It’s pleasant for me to be needed. I didn’t even dream that during wartime I would live in such wonderful conditions. I’m glad that a magical person like Hansen has appeared in my life.”
Finding purpose and employment in her new community, Natalia works as an administrator in the village. After losing her home and working as a caretaker for others' properties, she has found not only safety but also meaningful employment that utilizes her skills and provides her with a sense of purpose and belonging in her new community.
