A Faith-Driven Journey
Rymma Kolomoyets (65), a master of reinforced concrete constructions, had built a vibrant life in Kurakhovo. An active member of her Protestant church, she was more than just a resident—she was a community leader, choir singer, and dedicated volunteer who filled her private home with flowers and landscaped gardens.
Her world changed dramatically on August 13, 2024, when rockets first struck her city. By September 2nd, her home was completely destroyed. Yet, her faith remained unshaken. “God was helping me everywhere, ” she would later reflect.
Displaced to Dnipro, Rymma continued serving her community, helping fellow believers and seeking a path forward. Her resilience was rooted in a deep spiritual conviction that hope exists even in the darkest moments.
On November 18, 2024, she found sanctuary in Senior Chudo Village’s apartment 23.1B. More than just a home, it represented a divine providence—a chance to serve and rebuild.
Her wisdom for younger generations is profound: “Preserve your faith. Faith in yourself, in God, or in goodness helps you endure even when everything seems lost. Hope always exists.”
To Dell Loy Hansen, a fellow church member, she offers heartfelt gratitude: “You gave us not just a roof over our heads, but faith in good people. We are infinitely grateful for a chance to start life anew.”
Her greatest goal now is simple—to live, to work, and to wait for victory, serving her new community with the same passion that defined her entire life.
